CORA is recruiting an ice scheduler for the upcoming
2009/2010 season. The ice scheduler is considered a very important role
in our ringette association.
In recognition of the importance of association ice
management, CORA is offering a $1500 annual honorarium for the person
selected as ice scheduler. The person selected for this role must have a
vested interest in the CORA association and the position includes a seat
on the CORA executive.

| CORA Tournament December 2009 – Thank You! |
NEW |

Thank you to all the players, coaches, bench staff, and
families for joining us in Ottawa for our 27th annual tournament last
weekend. We were pleased to host 62 teams, from Bunnies to Belle.
I hope your team enjoyed their weekend of ringette as much as I enjoyed
watching them compete. The quality of ringette was fantastic – as
evidenced by the tight final games and overtime finals.
Thank you also to all of the CORA volunteers who made the tournament
such a success. Every family in our Association contributed their time
and effort to the tournament by selling ads for the souvenir program,
timing and scoring, donating prizes for the Instant Win table, or
standing in cold arenas troubleshooting. The tournament would not have
been a success without you.
There would be no event without the generous efforts of the tournament
committee.

Your contributions of time, energy and expertise were invaluable and so
appreciated. Thanks also to Scott Thompson, our ever patient CORA
President, Grace Kelly, our G&T Rep, and Rose and Tim, of Score2Stats …
all for their support and knowledge during tournament weekend.
It is the rare ringette tournament without a few bumps … thanks for your
patience during ours. We always appreciate feedback – to those
participants who stopped by one of the troubleshooting tables, or sent
an email to give us feedback – thank you. Please feel free to email with
any additional comments.
I hope to see your team in December 2010 for the 28th annual Ottawa
Tournament.
Good luck with the rest of your season.

Would you be surprised to learn that the registration fee
for girls hockey in Ottawa is $625 and that for boys hockey at Ottawa
Centre the registration is $525? At CORA (City of Ottawa Ringette
Association) the fee is only $365 per year.
Why is
that? |
