About Us:

The Ottawa Ringette Association is dedicated to promoting the sport of ringette in the Ottawa region. We are committed to providing a positive and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels. Our FUN1 program is designed to introduce young athletes to the joy of ringette while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Coach for our FUN1 program. As the Head Coach, you will play a crucial role in shaping the ringette experience for our youngest athletes, aged 3-7 years old. You will lead and inspire our players, instilling a love for the sport while teaching fundamental skills and creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement age-appropriate training plans and practice sessions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship and teamwork.
- Teach fundamental ringette skills, such as skating, passing, and shooting, in an engaging and fun manner.
- Provide constructive feedback to players and parents to support player development.
- Organize and supervise FUN1 program practices and games.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times.
- Collaborate with other coaches and program coordinators to ensure a cohesive and consistent program experience.
- Act as a positive role model for young athletes and promote the values of the Ottawa Ringette Association.

Qualifications:

- Experience coaching youth athletes, preferably in ringette or a related sport.
- Knowledge of ringette rules and fundamentals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with young children and their parents.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards coaching and working with youth.
- Valid coaching certification or willingness to obtain one (e.g., NCCP certification).
- A clean police record check (vulnerable sector check).

Compensation:

- CORA will offer a $1000 honorarium

Dates:
- Saturdays 3 PM St. Laurent, starting Sept 30
