The City of Ottawa Ringette Association (“CORA”) and the Nepean Ringette Association (“NRA”) agreed to launch a three year pilot project called the “Welcome Year” which started in the 2017-18 season.  The Welcome Year is a project that provides U8 players and recreational players new to ringette with the opportunity to select their home association at the end of their welcome year. This is at the end of their U8 year or the end of a player’s first full year if they start as a U9 or above. It applies to players in both associations.

U8 Players

Players who live within the association boundaries for CORA may choose to play for Nepean at the end of their U8 season by informing the CORA Registrar or President of this decision. Players cannot jump back and forth between associations and would only be granted a second change of association if it complies with the CORA Player and Team Policy.  Likewise, players who play for Nepean may choose to play for CORA at the end of their U8 season.  Nepean players need to contact their association Registrar or President for more information.

New Players in Higher Age Groups

Players who live within the association boundaries for CORA may choose to play for Nepean at the end of their first full season of ringette (if they do not play U8) by informing the CORA Registrar or President of this decision. Players cannot jump back and forth between associations and would only be granted a second change of association if it complies with the CORA Player and Team Policy.  Likewise, players who play for Nepean may choose to play for CORA at the end of their first full season of ringette (if they do not play U8). Nepean players need to contact their association Registrar or President for more information.
